''Verticordia'' sect. ''Pennuligera'' is a section of ''Verticordia'' that describes a group of sixteen shrub species. This description was first made in 1857 by Carl Meissner in ''Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society'',〔''Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society'', Botany 1: 44 (APNI)〕 but he did not nominate a type for this grouping. The section was later included within the subgenera, as ''Verticordia'' subg. ''Eperephes'', of Alex George's 1991 arrangement of the genus. The lectotype for this section, James Drummond's ''Verticordia grandis'', was nominated by George as the appropriate species of the then known taxa. The species described as within this section are: :Section ''Pennuligera'' ::''V. comosa'' - ''V. lepidophylla'' - ''V. chrysostachys'' - ''V. aereiflora'' - ''V. dichroma'' - ''V. x eurardyensis'' - ''V. muelleriana'' - ''V. argentea'' - ''V. albida'' - ''V. fragrans'' - ''V. venusta'' - ''V. forrestii'' - ''V. serotina'' - ''V. oculata'' - ''V. etheliana'' - ''V. grandis'' == References == *George, A.S.
